Thick smog hovers over the Bangkok skyline

Thailand's capital city has a population of around 10 million and occupies an area of approx 1600 square kilometres.

Spread across the Chao Phraya Rivers shifting delta, Bangkok has become notorious for frequent destructive flooding often made worse by rapid development with poor planning.

The average annual temperature is 28°C making it one of the worlds hottest cities. March through to May is usually the hottest period with high humidity and smog creating a very uncomfortable unhealthy atmosphere.
